1 John 5

Soul Tattoo: Be ASSURED, we have VICTORY through ETERNAL LIFE in CHRIST.

1st John 4:20-21 (NLT)  If someone says, “I love God,” but hates a fellow believer, that person is a liar; for if we don’t love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see? And he has given us this command: Those who love God must also love their fellow believers.

1st John 5:1-3 (NLT) Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has become a child of God. And everyone who loves the Father loves his children, too. We know we love God’s children if we love God and obey his commandments. Loving God means keeping his commandments, and his commandments are not burdensome.
  •  BELIEVE that JESUS is the CHRIST.

  •  LOVE your ADOPTIVE FAMILY
1st John 5:4-5 (NLT) For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith.  And who can win this battle against the world? Only those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God.

1st John 2:15-17 (ESV) Do not love the world or the things in the world. “If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him”….and the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.

1st John 5:11 (NLT) 11 And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God’s Son does not have life.
  • We OVERCOME the WORLD by LIVING PAST the WORLD
  • The WORLD cannot have a HOLD on you, if you don’t BELONG to it.
John 17.14-19 (NLT)

1st John 5:6-8 (ESV) 6 This is he who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ; not by the water only but by the water and the blood. And the Spirit is the one who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. 7 For there are three that testify: 8 the Spirit and the water and the blood; and these three agree.
  • We have ETERNAL LIFE through JESUS CHRIST.

1st John 5:13-15 (ESV)

I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life. And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.
  • TRUST your HEAVENLY FATHER.
1 John 5:16-18 (ESV) If anyone sees his brother committing a sin not leading to death, he shall ask, and God will give him life—to those who commit sins that do not lead to death. There is sin that leads to death; I do not say that one should pray for that. All wrongdoing is sin, but there is sin that does not lead to death. We know that everyone who has been born of God does not keep on sinning, but he who was born of God protects him, and the evil one does not touch him.
  • PRAY for EACH OTHER.
1 John 5:19-18 (ESV) We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one. And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. Little children, keep yourselves from idols.
  • Don’t LOVE what is TEMPORARY.
