Living a Healthy Holy Spirit-Led Life:
SOUL TATTOO: Healthy habits pave the way for a Holy Spirit-led life, transforming us from the inside out.
Three Key Healthy Holy Spirit led Habits:
1.) Bible Study and prayer.
Psalm 119:105 (NIV) 105Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
2.) Connection with others.
Hebrews 10:24-25 (NIV) 24And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing…”
3.) Giving of yourself.
2 Corinthians 9:7 (NIV) 7God loves a cheerful giver.
Who is the Holy Spirit?
- Ruach (Hebrew): A wind, breath, or blast of breath.
- Pneuma (Greek): A current of air or strong breeze.
What is the Role of the Holy Spirit:
- Comforts Us –
John 14:26 (ESV) 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.
Counsels Us –
Isaiah 11:2 (ESV) 2 And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.
John 14:16 (ESV) 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, 17 even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.
- Convicts Us –
John 16:7-11 (NLT) 7 But in fact, it is best for you that I go away, because if I don’t, the Advocate won’t come. If I do go away, then I will send him to you. 8 And when he comes, he will convict the world of its sin, and of God’s righteousness, and of the coming judgment. 9 The world’s sin is that it refuses to believe in me. 10 Righteousness is available because I go to the Father, and you will see me no more. 11 Judgment will come because the ruler of this world has already been judged.
- Transforms Us –
Galatians 5:22-23 (NLT) 22 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!
- Equips Us –
1 Corinthians 12:7 (NIV) Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.
