THE ONE
Am I “all in” for my ONE?

Hebrews 12:1-4 (NIV) Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood.

Galatians 6:7-10 (MSG) Don’t be misled: No one makes a fool of God. What a person plants, he will harvest. The person who plants selfishness, ignoring the needs of others—ignoring God!—harvests a crop of weeds. All he’ll have to show for his life is weeds! But the one who plants in response to God, letting God’s Spirit do the growth work in him, harvests a crop of real life, eternal life. So, let’s not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good. At the right time we will harvest a good crop if we don’t give up, or quit. Right now, therefore, every time we get the chance, let us work for the benefit of all, starting with the people closest to us in the community of faith.

Matthew said…

Matthew 26:39, 42 & 44 (ESV) 39 And going a little farther he fell on his face and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will.”

42 Again, for the second time, he went away and prayed, “My Father, if this cannot pass unless I drink it, your will be done.”

44 So, leaving them again, he went away and prayed for the third time, saying the same words again.

Mark said…

Mark 14:33-36 (ESV) 33 And he took with him Peter and James and John, and began to be greatly distressed and troubled. 34 And he said to them, “My soul is very sorrowful, even to death. Remain here and watch.” 35 And going a little farther, he fell on the ground and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him. 36 And he said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for you. Remove this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.”

Luke said…

Luke 22:41-44 (ESV) 40 And when he came to the place, he said to them, “Pray that you may not enter into temptation.” 41 And he withdrew from them about a stone’s throw, and knelt down and prayed, 42 saying, “Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.” 43 And there appeared to him an angel from heaven, strengthening him. 44 And being in agony he prayed more earnestly; and his sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

Soul Tattoo: All in, is about being in motion on Jesus’ mission for my ONE.

RELENTESS: one that doesn’t bend or yield; persistent, continuing, constant, continual, continuous, non-stop, never ending, unabating, interminable, incessant, unceasing, endless, unending, unremitting, unrelenting, unrelieved, unfaltering, unflagging, untiring, unwavering, dogged, tenacious, single-minded, tireless, indefatigable…

“Relentless means that I continue until God waves the checkered flag.”

FORWARD: directed toward a point in advance; moving ahead; onward; ready, prompt and eager.

“It may not be glamorous, it may not be fast, but we have to keep moving forward.”

MOTION: the action or process of moving or of changing place or position. To go from one place or position to another.

“Motion is the action or process of moving, it is what will get me from one place to the other.”

Soul Tattoo: In order for people to get saved, Jesus needs His people to be in motion on His mission!

Luke 19:9-10 (NLT) 9Jesus responded, “Salvation has come to this home today, for this man has shown himself to be a son of Abraham. 10And I, the Son of Man, have come to seek and save those like him who are lost.”

3 “All In” Motion Directives…

  • Jesus’ mission in motion is a catalyst for my mandate.
    • Luke 19:10 (NLT) 10And I, the Son of Man, have come to seek and save those like him who are lost.”
  • Jesus’ mission in motion determines my method.
    • 2 Corinthians 5:9 (ESV) So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please him.
  • Jesus’ mission in motion directs my money where to go.
    • Luke 19:8 (NIV) But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount.
    • Luke 16:13 (NIV) 13 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”

Matthew 28:18-20 (NLT) 18Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given complete authority in heaven and on earth. 19Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Acts 1:8 (ESV) 8But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Acts 2:41 (ESV) 41So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls.
