It is Finished | Grace Wins | Pastor Rodney Thrift
Psalm 103:1-5 (NLT) 1 Let all that I am praise the Lord; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name. 2 Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me. 3 He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. 4 He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies. 5 He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle’s!

SOUL TATTOO: It is finished, might not mean that it is over.
GRACE: A word that affords joy, pleasure, delight sweetness and loveliness; Good-will, loving-kindness and mercy. Grace is the kindness of God to man. Grace is kindness being bestowed upon someone undeserving, hence, the favor given to believers through Jesus Christ. Undeserved favor. (Compact Bible Dictionary)
2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV) 9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
James 4:6 (NLT) 6 And he gives grace generously. As the Scriptures say, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”
3 Keys to How “GRACE WINS” in Peter’s Life:
- Peter learned humility with Jesus.
Luke 5:4-9 (NLT) 4 When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Now go out where it is deeper, and let down your nets to catch some fish.” 5 “Master,” Simon replied, “we worked hard all last night and didn’t catch a thing. But if you say so, I’ll let the nets down again.” 6 And this time their nets were so full of fish they began to tear! 7 A shout for help brought their partners in the other boat, and soon both boats were filled with fish and on the verge of sinking. 8 When Simon Peter realized what had happened, he fell to his knees before Jesus and said, “Oh, Lord, please leave me—I’m such a sinful man.” 9 For he was awestruck by the number of fish they had caught, as were the others with him. 10 His partners, James and John, the sons of Zebedee, were also amazed.
Luke 5:10-11 (NLT) 10 His partners, James and John, the sons of Zebedee, were also amazed. Jesus replied to Simon, “Don’t be afraid! From now on you’ll be fishing for people!” 11 And as soon as they landed, they left everything and followed Jesus. - Peter learned that Jesus’ heart is to redeem and restore.
Matthew 26:75 (NLT) 75 Suddenly, Jesus’ words flashed through Peter’s mind: “Before the rooster crows, you will deny three times that you even know me.” And he went away, weeping bitterly.
John 21:15-17 (NLT) 15 After breakfast Jesus asked Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?” “Yes, Lord,” Peter replied, “you know I love you.” “Then feed my lambs,” Jesus told him. 16 Jesus repeated the question: “Simon son of John, do you love me?” “Yes, Lord,” Peter said, “you know I love you.” “Then take care of my sheep,” Jesus said. 17 A third time he asked him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt that Jesus asked the question a third time. He said, “Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Then feed my sheep. - Peter learned that when He stayed close to Jesus he could become bold.
Acts 4:12 (ESV) 12 …”And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
Acts 4:13 (ESV) 13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus.
