THE ONE
My ONE…
John 16:6-11 (NIV) 6 Rather, you are filled with grief because I have said these things. 7 But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. 8 When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment: 9 about sin, because people do not believe in me; 10 about righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer; 11 and about judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned.
The Holy Spirit:
Towards people of genuine faith, He is to us a Great Helper and Counselor.
Towards “the world” (unbeliever) the Holy Spirit is the exposer of unbelief because He convicts them of sin as Jesus proclaimed.
2 Cor 5:19-21 (NIV) 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. 21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
Luke 11-12 Jesus teaches us that His ambassadors should never fret about how we should respond to those outside the faith.
Colossians 4:5-6 (NIV) 5 Be wise when you engage with those outside the faith community; make the most of every moment and every encounter. 6 When you speak the word, speak it gracefully (as if seasoned with salt), so you will know how to respond to everyone rightly.
Teaches us:
While we should not fret and feel incompetent towards engaging lost people for Jesus, we should never feel “What’s the point!”
SOUL TATTOO: Walk slowly through this world knowing that God will use you, guide you and bless you to fulfill His purposes in the lives of those you meet.
Mark 2:5 (NIV) When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”
JESUS IS THE ONE FOR ALL. WE ARE ALL FOR THE ONE.
