AWAY IN A MANGER: The Shepherds
Isaiah 9:2 (NIV) 2 The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned.
Isaiah 9:6-7 (NIV) 6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7 Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this.
“Shalom”: God’s highest and most complete good be upon you and all associated with you.
- Some characteristics (attributes) of those experiencing PEACE: Thankfulness, gratitude, optimism, love for one another.
- There are some things about our lives that we had absolutely no choice in.
Psalm 16:5-6 (NASU) 5The LORD is the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You support my lot. 6The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; Indeed, my heritage is beautiful to me.
SOUL TATTOO: There is a huge difference between a relationship TO JESUS and a relationship WITH Jesus.
Romans 8:28 (NIV) 28And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
Psalm 139:13-17 (NIV) 13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. 15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. 17 How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them!
- The only way you will experience Jesus as your Prince of Peace is by making Jesus your Lord.
